Black lips?

what is going on with my fish? When I went to work this morning his lips were orange and now they are black?!?!? He has recently been treated for ick but then realized he had a fungus sonwe treated for that about a week and a half ago. He has been and still seems active. What is going on?!?!

I have read hat they can turn black but in a few hours time? Just wondering if I am missing something?!?

To me it looks like he has been hitting something repeatedly. My pair has gotten black marks on occasion from lip locking.

Does he hit the glass a lot? Or bite at decor?

He is In a tank alone with nothing but gravel. I haven't seen him hit anything in it. But that would make sense like a bruise almost.

Yes, like a bruise. I've seen the same on goldfish that were recovering from scale damage. I'm guessing it's part of a healing process.

That makes me feel a little better. We have only had him for a few weeks. He was dumped at petco for eating an oscar. He got sick right away and I have been working so hard to get him looking better. It freaked me out when I came home and saw him like this.

Poor guy. Just keep a close eye on him as you already are. I'm sure it's just from him mouthing the rocks and maybe heater or pipes in the tank. He is a beautiful fish

Ok now this morning his fins are turning black and his lips seem darker. This is so weird.
