Well, when I first got my red texas he had a little bit of black on his dorsal and tail fin, but recently it has gotten much worse where a good 60% of the fins are totally black instead of white/clear. Any idea what is causing this? I can take some pics if needed. Thanks.

I have not kept them but in another thread some some was saying it could be a seasonal sexual display. It is not flukes as they show up as individual small spots.

Red texas will go through what they call molting. It get black spots and eventually most if not all of the black will dissappear.

Thanks everyone for your help. Looks like a lot of the black is gone today. :woot:
