hey folks..just purchased a 100 gal. tank for my piranhas that has been sitting empty for a year and it looks like there is black mold in the silicon..is this a fish killer? or should I seal the edges of existing silicon with fresh stuff? there are no leaks ...I'm hoping I dont have to strip it all out and redo..thanks

ammonia kills black mold, but then I don't know if the silicone would still be safe for fish. I had some on the bottom of a stand once, so I sprayed it with a mix of ammonia and water and it killed it instantly.
