ok i need some help
i had a fish incident and had to move some fish around
the only avalible places for my black mollie is ither in a 1 gallon bucket OR in a betta tank(the type that's 3 sided with the light on top)
the betta tank has a under gravel filter and i have a air pump running to it that's rated for a 10-15 gallon tank with about 1 inch of gravel in it
it's not cycle it's just a tank i picked up at a yard sale
i clean and rinsed the gravel really well so there's not any dust
and i scalded the inside of the tank
will she be ok?
there's no filter other than the UGF my house stays in the mid 70's so i don't think temp swings will be a problem
it's gonna be about a week befor i can get a new tank
do you think she'll be ok i had her in the 1 gallon bucket for 3 or 4 days and she seemed fine but she stayed at the bottom alot and didn't move much
now she's swimming around and seems good
i have a bucket of water set out to age it's been out about a day
so i'll be good as far as water changes
how often should i change the water and how much?

Be sure you don't have chlorimines in the water.

Do a 1/4 W/C every third day.

Feed lightly.

thanks doctor joe
i apreciate it
i'm gonna try to get a new tank asap
how long does it take for chlorimines to evaporate from water?
i broke my toe so i can't get to the store right now and my grandparents could careless if my fish died.
what should i do to get the chlorimines out of the water as well as chlorine?

Chlorine evaporates pretty much right away - maybe even before it gets to your tap.
Chloramine is much more stable - I think it does eventually break down, but you are talking weeks.
Not all water supplies have chloramine added, but if yours does then you need to use something like Prime to neutralise it.
The importance of using it depends on the quality of your tap water, I dont use it myself, but reading whats in some other peoples water, they DO need to use it.

Like the others have said, you can keep fish in a small uncycled tank, if you do big frequent water changes. Not too hard with a 2gal tank ;)

Cheers

Ian

she's a little over a inch
i wil try to put her in my 10 gallon as soon as her fry get old enough
they are maybe 1/8 of a inch so they have some growing to do before they will no longer be considered food for her anymore
