Black mystery snail question

What fish are in it? Why are you using salt? Snails will not tolerate salt long-term. As far being black, chances are they're dark striped purple or dark striped green (wild). There is no black mystery snail.

Dosen't that destroy the mystery, being a certain species?

Snails don't like even trace amounts of copper, and salt does them bad unless they are marine

No, it doesn't. They have been selectively bred to achieve the coloration. Wild color gene is a dominant gene and will not be erased out of existence if that is what you are asking.

The OP never asked regarding the copper however.;)

But if you know what snail it is, it's not a mystery...

Then please explain how it is not a mystery snail. Frankly, your post is vague.

I will continue on that on MY bms thread.
Most freshwater inverts die in minerals from lead to salt.
