black nasty is it good?

is 35$ a good price for this nasty it is 4 to 5 inches long
how long till this wound heals up
s it male or female

They heal fairly quickly in high 80sF temp with a bit of salt. The one in your pic looks to be a male.
If you have a community tank, it will kill every fish in the tank, or if it can't kill them, it will stress out and die.
$35 is a good price, but a pair of that size, went for $10 at the last aquarium society auction. The probable reason is my sentence above.
If you want to keep it in a large tank by itself, then it is a fabulous fish to keep. Below was my male, a fantastic , personable fish, also a murderous psychopath.

he wuill be alone some what but my tank is gonna have dividers and on the other side will be my devil. i dont belive in mixin centrals more like I have always been unable to mix them

Your divider must be very tight and secure, my male would break down dividers in a flash to get to his female, and if it couldn't break them down, it would jump over, or dig under if possible.
