I went to the lfs store and the had some haitensis juvies , I am thinking about getting some , I was just wanting to here people experience about keeping this species and are the easy to care for and breed

i dont own any, though i wish i did, but ive heard that juvis are very susceptible to bloat, so keep the temps high and feed lower protein food and you will be ok.

Word of advice... keep them separated! I bought 8 1" fish from Conkel and threw them in a 60 growout....... I'm down to 2 and only because I separated them after the fact! My luck they're both females....

House 64 is right on the money. High temps in the mid 80s also help them digest food, and keep immunity up. I had a heater crapp out last winter, temp dropped from 84 down to 76, and 50 one inch fry bloated and died almost overnight.
