How big is your tank?
yes, how big is you tank, you need at least a 300 gallon with 8'x3' foot print to house a black or silver for life! And if this is you first time with aro, go for silver, because they are a lot cheaper!

i am having a 374 gallon tank,i am planning to keep a juvenile so initially i will put it in a 5ft tank...

if you have a big tank then starting with a silver is a good way to go!

Agree. Over here silver (5") $65, black (5") $250. If you want a bigger one, expect to pay 20% more per inch.

A 6'x3' would be alright for an average silver Aro..

No it would not, you need to provide a tank that is 3x the length of the silver aro. Silver aros get much longer then 2 feet.
