silvers are hardier and slightly bigger but blacks aren't that much different. especially when you get them past 5" or so. Blacks are quite abit more pricey though because they don't come around much anymore. I have had my share of problems just keeping silvers alive so my opinion is start with them for your first aro. good luck
I've heard silvers get bigger. Most of what I read has silvers as pretty hardy overall. Hard to feed, though. Picky, and they get that eye droop thing if given too much fatty food (live fish, etc.).
T.y for info I think silver look more gracefull as the swim than black and they look a little better in general its just if black was alot smaller but since their only a little smaller im gonna get silver
Cool. I have a 10" silver Aro and I wana get a black as soon as i find one The one of him with mouth gapping open really lets u know y they can eat such big things
Silvers are alot more common, an as stated they do get huge. Blacks a hard to come by, I tried to find one an tried to order one but none of the LFS I go to could get any. I ended up getting a Silver.
they arent picky eaters, start them off on crickets and eventually throw in a few pellets or sticks w./them and they will eventually start eating the pellets
