How big in dimensions should the tank be for one to live a long healthy life?

Do they like to be in groups?

Pacu in general get huge some say 5 foot some say they never stop growing. I know that wild specimens live a long time but for tank dimensions I have no clue all I know is they grow fairly quick and quickly outgrow tanks. Sorry I was of no asistance on your question.

The black pacu are the largest species. 60Lbs is not a record setting fish!!!!

I am not sure I would try one in anything less than 700 gallons. Yes they are social and do best when kept in at least small groups. For that reason, 1000 gallons is more practical. A 10 x 4 x 3 would give you almost 900 gallons and would be a good start.

Wow, Knew they got big,but wow.

Well I might get a small group if I ever end up with a 1500gallon plus tank. For now Ill leave them alone.
