I have a young female veiled chameleon and I noticed a few days ago that she has a black patch on one of her sides. She is in a 24"x24"x48" all screen cage with some vines and a live ficus tree. I have a 100 watt UVB/Heat bulb that is about 6 or 7 inches from where she likes to sit. She eats fine and gets mad at me whenever I open the cage, its just the black patch. I was thinking maybe a burn, but I don't see her really climb up by the light ever. Could it be a bruise from her falling? If anyone could help me out it would be appreciated. Also if you guys need anymore info I'll be happy to give it to you. Thanks!

when ive had chameleons that generally ment they were stressed out

It isn't a color that she makes show up, it is there regardless of her colors.

Haha, I'll try, she usually gets pretty mad when we go in her cage, and I only have a cell phone to use.

Could be a burn, if your bulb is unprotected you should cover it with metalic mesh. Also I think 100w is kind of strong for a veiled, insted you could achieve the same temps with a 60w-80w one or 2 60-40w. I no longer use bulbs of that kind of wattage and find them unnecessary unless for desert animals.
