I am thinking about getting a black piranha from a local guy. hes about 5" and comes with a 65 gal setup. I know he will have to be housed solo, but will a 65 gal be good for life?
hmm, im not sure what kind it is since I havent seen it in person. hes had it for a while and said it hasnt really grown much. it also chases him along the lenght of the tank when he enters the room lol
cool site. ill have to ask the guy tomorrow more about it though. all he told me is black piranha what would you reccomend for a tank for a rhom anyways? thanks
Whats the dimensions on your 65gal? A standard 75gal (48"x18"x21") will house a rhom for a very long time possibly even for life. Being that the rhom is 5" right it's growth rate is about to slow down, after the 6" mark you can expect about 1" a year of growth. Get it and lets see pictures.
Unfortunatly common names with Ps and most fish in general suck. "black piranha" could be anything from S. Sanchezi that only grow up to 6" or S. Rhombeus that in the wild has a potential to reach 18"+!
