I'm interested in getting a Black Piranha, but i'm wondering what is the minimal tank size for these beast?

:feedback:

thanks,
Justin

They grow so slow, by the time it needs a big tank, you'd be bored and probably looking for a home to for the BDR. I grew one out in a 20 Gallon, lots of water changes, then moved it to a 40 gallon, after 1.5 years I sold the Black Piranha. they are the slowest growing fish I've kept. and I thought my Orange Heads were slow growers.

Sorry if I'm not answering your questions. A 8ft By 30 inches By 24 Inches, would be good! It'll take upto 7 years before he or she needs a tank that size, and you will not be able to keep any thing else with him, visit Pfury.com. that is a Piranha specify site. what ever you do, Please don't order from Nate from Massive Aggression, Buy local if you can, if not, Aquascape/Sharkaquarium has been good to me .

Tank size will all depend on how big the fish is when you get it.
For example if you purchased a juvie at 2-3in then a 75gal would probably be good for life, The biggest youd probably get it is 12in and that would take close to a decade(10yrs)
You cant grow monsters like in the wild.
If you want a 14+ in rhom you would have to order one at that size wild caught.

ok, so if i bought say a 5" piranha, would a 75 be good?
Most likely yes, i have yet to see someone grow out a juvi(3-5") into anything larger than 13-14"
