The main difference is that Serrasalmus rhombeus must be kept alone. And if ''giant'' means 14" and more, it needs at least 200gallons. My 16" is in a 215. Very very beautiful fish.
IMO, aggressive isn't the right term, but rather territorial.

@Joecool44 : It won't eat anything hits the water... We aren't talking about majority of wolffishers or arowanas...
 
They are similar in the regards to water parameters and what they eat.

But they are different in many more ways.
how they look..how they grow.. how they act etc.

In rare cases theyve been cohabed but strongly recommend you keep them solo unlike a shoal of redbellys.
 
I have T5HO on my rhom tank, it's fine with it. really depends on the fish. some are very sensitive to light some just don't care much
 
I have 4, 7 to 16". They seem to be sensitive to light but I think some are less than others.
