I was wanting to get a pair of EBJDs and setup a new tank. I have this idea in my head but my plans call for black sand. I was hoping that someone could tell me what my best option for black sand would be and where I can find it. I've never used sand before and am really excited about this new project. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I use CaribSea Tahitian Moon black sand cuz its easy to get & not too pricey. Rinse the sand very well, no matter what kind/brand you get.

^^^ agreed make sure you wash it thoroughly otherwise your filter media will be black for months.

Estes permaquartz. I get 50lbs for $24 dollar at my local paint shop. http://www.permacolorquartz.com/ Here's there website so you can call to find somewhere local to buy it.

Black Tahitian Moon sand is a good choice. My two EBJD's looked much better when I moved them into a tank with it.

I quadruple that notion, moon sand is beautiful and doesnt fly all over the tank as others will. Go for it you will love it.
