black sand?

Hello,
i just got a 180 and i want a black sand substrate. if anyone could help me locate or maybe give me an idea to where i should be looking that would be great!

Where in WI are you? There is a post somewhere on MFK that talks about quartz from www.3m.com

Just go there and search for quartz crystals maybe and you should find some. Then it will give you the option to find distributors in your area, but maybe you can find someone that will ship to you. Let me know what you find! Thanks.

i assum your tank is a PLanted tank, then i would suggest Eco-Complete Substrate they are really balck and design for Planted Tanks, otherwise check the Tahitan Moon sand they are also nice

i got alot of black sand in my 90. too bad there only sold in 5 lb bags. and the bags ripped very easily!! looks very nice though.. SCREW GRAVEL!! AND BARE BOTTOM TANKS!
