Today we are getting the tail end of a hurricane up here in NY as a weak tropical storm. But tomorrow my friend and me are supposed to go deep-sea fishing for Grouper (specifically Black Seabass) and Fluke. We fish waters over 40 feet deep and the current is ALWAYS strong. (the tidal rips attract baitfish, which in turn attracts Grouper.) But will the storm affect the fishing, even being so far down? I assume the crew knows what they are doing and can accommodate this, but still I worry. A 4 hour boat trip with no fish can feel like a lifetime to an angler on their first trip, like my friend.
