Black shark with ich

I ahve a balck shark i got from a friend last week and it had ich, its ich is not appearing any better but he is acting healthy and eating more than ever. How long does it take for ich to go away, the tank is at 80-82 degrees and i added aquarium salt. will he pull through? Here is the whole story about the black shark.

Did you follow the directions found in the ich sticky? If so, the length of treatment is ten days.

great, that makes me feel much better, i did exactly what was said and the ich is appearing slightly worse, but the fish is acting much more healthy

Yeah, I think the sticky actually says that the fish will start to look worse before it looks better. I am on the tail-end of that same treatment with my GT. I added the salt more slowly, though, because I worry too much.

How big's the little guy? They can grow pretty quick. I got my black last July at 4'' and he's 11-12'' now.

Yay! Make sure you carry out the full length of the treatment, just to be sure!

he's around 5-6inch

Give it 10 more days of salt treatment just to be sure you got rid of ich completely.
