Black silicone?

I was given some older tanks the other day, a 55 and a 29 gallon. The 29 has really thick glass and black silicone. Is that normal on older tanks? I'm just worried it might be something toxic to the fish.
 
You can still get black silicone on new tanks.
 
Cool. Thanks for the info. I hadn't seen it and didnt want to risk it.
 
its a lot better than clear as it doesn't show the algae as much and won't discolour with medications.

I will never buy another tank with clear silicone, ever.

for my 150g build in my sig, i even had the tank custom done with black as it was only available in clear from Aqueon (aka All Glass)
