I have a 4' long 90G with a JD, FM, Salvini and pleco and have recently
added 10 Black Skirt Tetras as dithers and they are doing ok now. Will they have a chance as the fish grow out? They are all currently about 4-5" except the pleco who is 8"

i think the JD will box with the tetras.

I use Convicts. Fast and readily available.

it just sucks when you have 10 of them that survive, then you feel bad taking them to the LFS where you will be able to visit them for the next few months LOL.

i have had 5 in a hundred gallon with two JDs and they ignore them. i was in the same position and thought tha they might end up being an expensive meal, but they are fine. one of my JDs is 8" and the other is about 5. it has been three months since i moved them all in together.

I would go with Silver Dollars over Black Skirts here. They grow larger and are less likely to end up on the menu for your cichlids.

it's a hit or miss, my larger cichlids ignore smaller fish for the most part, and only bother to eat pellets. In my tanks it works, you'll have more succes with a larger tank than 4'.

From the sounds of everyone else it doesn't for them, so it's up to you.
