I discovered a black spot on both my rays. It seems to be on the exact same spot on both rays. I bought the 2 rays together from the same batch, they are about 9" each. They are motoro's. They seem to be healthy and eating well.

I'm hoping it is just a birth mark possibly since they both have it. Anyone seen those?

I have 2 small motoros and they both have a black spot on the underside right in the middle. I don't think they had them when I first got them. The spots are a little bigger than a pea. This is completely normal and I believe all freshwater rays get them as they mature. I wouldn't be worried at all. As long as they're eating and acting normal and have no fin curl, you should be fine!

This is where the yolk sac used to be attached then they were in the womb. You can think of it like a belly button
