Black spot on silver dollar fish

Greetings

I have a question about black spot on silver dollar piranha..
It appeared on both sides of fish on same place..on two its define spot, on one it is in the making.
I read that could be sign of sexual maturity of males but i would like someone to confirm..

That's not a piranha...

I have both piranha and silver dollars at the moment. I can guarented you that is a silver dollar and not a piranha. Silver dollars are actually a tetra and VERY peaceful unlike my p's. I haven't seen the black spot on my silver dollars but I do know there are variations of the species including some that get body markings such as black spots.
