I have Rosy Red Minnows and Fathead Minnows. I have 5 in my 55, and 2 in my 10. The two in my 10 are my favorites, and since my Angels tend to kill their tank mates, I just decided to put them in the 10 gallon. I had the 10 setup with 3 ADF's, 4 Mystery Snails, 2 Rosie's, and 1 Guppy (his mates died). 2-3 weeks ago I rescued a Betta, and so my 10 now includes him. Everyone gets along fine. I never had a Betta and expected him to be mean, but he's a whole lot nicer then the Angels..

The tank is setup with a Elite Hush 20 Power Filter, 75 Watt heater, and it is cleaned every 4-6 days. The tanks substrate is sand, so no food is ever lying around the bottom. I always do 30% water changes, or more, since they're are a lot of snails in the tank, and they seem to be the dirtiest of all the animal in there. Also, my water parameters are fine. I used the rest of my kit a day ago and therefore I can't test, but when I did, the nitrate level was normal, as well as a regular 7.0 pH. My temperature is usually around 75-80, typically 78. I don't like the water being too hot for the ADF's.

I feed my fish a mixed diet of Bloodworms, Shrimp Pellets, Tropical Flakes, Floating Pellets, Bits of algae pellets, and sometimes cucumbers for the snails. && no, I don't have any live plants.

This particular tank has been setup for a couple months before any of these current fish lived there. I used to just keep Guppies, but all but one have died of old age. None of the fish have ever had any prior medical problems, except the Betta and the Rosie with the problem. I rescued him (Betta) from a bad situation with severe fin rot, but he's fully recovered with a lot of TLC.

And.. the Minnow just hasn't been lucky from the start. She's one of my favorites because shes weird and different from my other Minnows, which are very timid. When I first got her, she had a weird crook in her back, which I thought was a spinal issue, but she seems to cope with it. She swims, eats, and is just as fast as all the others. At first her body looked distorted, but as shes gotten older, it's just a slight crook, where her back kind of dips in, which makes her tail look higher then it's supposed to. The problem is, shes got a black spot on her back, right behind her top fin, in the "dip". It looks like a black bruise under her scales (shes a pink, clear color). From what I've been reading, I thought maybe it was a tumor or something, but I don't see how she could of gotten it. It's not Black Spot Disease, it looks nothing like BSD. It really looks like a bruise on her back. It's been there for a week now, and hasn't gotten smaller/bigger. It's not affecting her either...

Anyone have any ideas on this..? I wanted to post as much information as possible to rule things out. I've never had this problem before, I just wanted to know if this could spread to my other fish. I might post some pictures, if she will stay still..

Thanks in advance. xD
