i have noticed some black spots on my blood parrot lately and was wondering if anyone knew what this might be
i don't want him to be sick and if he is what should i do to cure it
any ideas
thanks
mike

it could be a parasite i'm not sure the name or it could be natural coloration are they all the same size and shape or is it more irregular and blotchy does it match on bith side. net it if your worried for a quick inspection they will be raised and all the same if it is bad how about a pic

Thats what happened to my parrots too when I had them. I used them for cycling though so maybe its from water conditions because I used mine to break the tank in.

thanks guppy sounds like thats what mine has. I think i will be going to the lfs for some treatment today. thanks to all for helping me out on this matter.

perform a 30% water change and put plenty of salt in your water. if you have anti-parasite solutions then by all means. but methylene blue can do most external problems for your fish.

Good luck! ;)

well what type of markings are you referring.. usually in a jk or fading type the are just fading, but as in my parrots and jk's they are in heat.. that is when i they are in heat is when they show black markings on their fins or belly..
