Had one of the small female BTRs catch her eye on some of the artificial coral in the display. Pulled her for treatment in an off display holding pool. It took several weeks worth of treatment (both topical cleaning and antibiotic injections). Also took the chance to pull all the black tips from the small displays and relocate them to the main display - with far more room.
Here's the start to finish pics (instead of drawing it out while it happens, I waited until it was wrapped up so I could put all the pics together at once).
This is what it looked like when it first happend. The injured eye also caused a swimming issue, and she had rubbed around the eye and the tip of her rostrum raw.
Here she is up close out of the water that same day. The drip you see running down is liquid Vit E.
Pulled her twice daily for cleaning of the area and treatment of the eye to prevent infection from setting in. Also gives you and idea of how small she is, when she's resting in my lap. These are about 2 weeks into it... so you can see the progress in healing of the area.
Here she is this week, in the main display with another pup and a larger female (among other fish, sharks and eels).
