Hi first post on this forum but i was thinking that in the future I can keep these MONSTERS at my own house! So basically are there any safe coral or compatible with this type of shark because I saw a video on you tube were there was live coral such as lps and sps if not mistaken.
cheers,

First off, the tank in the video is WAY too small for those sharks. They will die if kept there.

Coral and big bodied sharks like those don't mix 99% of the time (there can always be ways around it, but usually it becomes cost prohibitive). Sharks produce a LOT of waste, and in thick enough amounts that a single "passing" would wipe out a coral it fell on. Sharks are known for fowling water chemistry quickly during feedings and such. Not at all what you want with a coral tank. It is not uncommon for ammonia levels to spike over 2 after a shark feeding.

No need to be sorry. ZooDiver was sharing his incredibly extensive knowledge with this subject and I just moved the thread to the appropriate section. We tend to be fairly direct in our methods of delivering information on this site, but in no way have you yet done anything wrong or upset anyone. :)

In short: Don't get one of these until you fully know proper research and have boat loads of money.

Yeah, no need to be sorry at all.

I see a lot of videos of black tip reef sharks in tanks that will kill them. People see them and assume it is an ok tank volume to house the sharks in, so they follow the same path. It results in a lot of lost lives and wasted money. I'd rather help someone build the right tank for the animals than watch them struggle with the wrong set up.

hey, zoodiver, have you seen the one video of a black tip in a tank that is like 300 or less gallons, rectangle? Its just very sad, and the one video with a gray smooth hound in a 75, just messed up.
