anyone using black water extract? ive been debating it and wondering what sort of look and benefits it will give to my setup.

I used it on my last water change and the tank had a more natural look to it in terms of the water colour i guess, but the colour only lasted a few days. I did find my rhom to be a little more outgoing after adding the extract

I've used it, still have a bottle sitting around. I have enough wood in my tank for the water to be slightly tinted most of the time anyway. Didn't really notice any big changes.

I dont really prefer to use black water extract. If you use peat in the filter it gives you a much richer tint to the water and will actually help lower the ph in the water. If you are going to use either one just remember that carbon will remove it from the water. I think peat is the best way to go. I use it in my tank now and when i get my new tank set up i will post some pics so you can see.

thanks, I appreciate the help. Im gonna look into using peat instead.
