Its been confirmed, Black wolves are indeed a new sp of hoplias. So in other words it wont be classified as a lacardae or mala. The paper will detail this more when its published. But you heard it here first on MFK.

On another note. Ive been asked to look around for some differant variations of pics on the wolfs (Erythrinus). They are looking to do a taxonomic revision on the Erythrinus. If any of you can post some pics to include differant colors they may have been seen in the hobby. That are not say on google etc. That would be great.

Thx
Erik

A vendor on WW has a pic of a "purple wolf" it's a ery species with a purple line down the middle instead of orange. Might be worth looking into.

I was guessing from the language in the email but it was still cryptic. Now its 100% verified from the same person months later. What the name is still under wraps at the moment. Im trying my best to have him tell me before the paper is published. But I dont think he would even tell his wife lol
