I am seriously considering getting a black wolffish. My supplier has 2 available right now. They are 4-5''. I just want one. Problem is I have a 55 gallon cycling and the only available aquarium is a 90 gallon with some 5-6'' severums, a few chocolate cichlids about 7-8'', and a trio of flagtail prochilodus and vulture catfish awaiting their 180 gallon coming in. Do you think I could put the black wolf in the 90 gallon with the current fish grow him up and then move him with the fish into the 180 gallon? My supplier is telling me that as long as I don't put smaller fish in the aquarium that the wolf can eat, he will most likely stay on the bottom until night time and feeding time and ignore the other fish. How true is this? He claims that he has the black wolfs seperated in tanks with brycon and payara. What is your opinion? Should I just plop him in the 55 gallon or is the 90 gallon better for him for a few months? The 55 gallon is being saved for a rainbow or gold wolf and some buenous aires tetras.
This is if these black wolfs don't sell out before I can pay for it on Tuesday.
