black worms and plant/fish/invert compatibility.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i've heard that blackworms are capable of killing shrimp, but i have no clue if that is actually true. i've seen shrimp eat single blackworms in the past, so who knows. most likely a rumor.

Blackworms killing shrimp? Only if they form a giant ball and smother one to death. Rumors are horrible things!

I get a kick out of my black worms, if they are hungry they all stick about 1/8-1/2 an inch of themselves up into the water colum, then a fish swims buy or whatever and they retract super fast like anemones or something. Looks like half my tank has short fleshy grass.

Well just upgraded my planted tank from a 20 gallon long to a 40 gallon breeder. In doing so I couldn't find any worms left in the substrate. I suspect my rainbows went around eating them when they'd stick their heads out to gather food from the water column. I'll wait for this tank to become more established before introducing black worms again and update this thread as to the progress.
