I just bought the phone yesterday and I'm trying to transfer media from my computer to my phone. I installed the software, but there is no media tab as described in the guide. Anyone have any insight to help me out?
 
you mean no media tab on the screen of your pc? If so reinstall the software on your pc.. something may have got screwed up on the install..

Sorry haven't worked with blackberrys in years but used to do support for them...

RIM BlackBerry Curve Keypad Layout

Prerequisites

Windows 2000 or later
Not compatible with Mac OS X
A MicroSD card (sold separately)
512 MB card will hold approximately 100-200 songs
1 GB card wil hold approximately 200-400 songs
USB data cable
BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.2 or later
Sideload using BlackBerry Desktop Manager

Power the handheld on.
Connect the device to a PC using the RIM USB data cable.
Select Media Manager.


Browse to the desired music content on the PC.
NOTE: It is strongly suggested to select Media Card as the destination


Select the desired songs to transfer and click the right arrow.


Music transfer may take a several minutes depending on how many files are being transferred.


Songs transferred to the BlackBerry will appear on the right.


Disconnect the device from the cable.
Access the music player on the RIM BlackBerry Curve.


NOTE:
NOTE: At this time, Bluetooth music file transfer is not supported.

I don't have "Media Manager" on the software that came with it. I've installed/uninstalled the CD several times to no avail. I'm trying to download a service pack online as we speak.
 
Yeah try to see if there is a update to the software that might be the problem.
 
Same thing happend with my Sanyo m1. After hours of messing around with it I finaly got it. Just keep trying different things or go back where you got it and ask them.

then yours came with an older software version and you need to go to RIMS website and download the latest version. On the AT&T site (if its an AT&T #) just got to there website then got to support select your phone then download the latetst version
