1: Will this possibly increase the activity of my H. Tat, ornate, and catfishes?
2: Is it safe to use with the fishes listed above including gar(Florida)?
3: How will the clarity of my water suffer?
4: Can you post pics of your tank if you have backwater extract in it?

i just want an idea of what my tank may look like, thanks for any info! :)

It won't harm any of your fish and as you said you just pour it in your tank. It works good does look really cool but the only negative is it doesn't last too Long your mechanical filter will clear the water p over time

so should i just keep adding it over time.

You can make your own with peat moss. You can put the peat most in a buck of water and let it brew with aeration and heater for a few days. Then you can remove the aeration/heater and let the peat settle before using the water. There is no real advantage that I found except maybe breeding soft water fishes but most of them will breed without black water for me anyway. It was an experiment I tried long time ago. Good Luck.
