black water extract lowers the ph softens the water and colors it tetra extract isn't bad just add the recommended dose or a lil bit less

I add a lot of kents black water to my turtle tanks all extra does is really darken the water my ph used to drop arround 6 points when I used it for fish my turtle tanks don't drop any lower than the tanks that were dosed correctly I only add extra for the color of the water I'm duplicating the area they are from

it is great for bettas.
its also the same as the kepatapang leaves aka indian almond leaves.
and it will make ur water kind of tea-colored.
did i say it is great 4 bettas? oh yeah!

have you heard of it or tryed it its made by tetra aqua.

Howdy,

Use it only if you love algae

Otherwise, stay away from it. It contains high concentrations if phosphates. In most tanks, that's one of the main limiting factors of algae growth. If you add it: boooom - algae. I have confronted Tetra Germany with these facts, and they admitted to using phosphates as stabilizers. However, they insist that regular use reduces algae growth. Sounds fishy to say the least. Other manufacturers do not use phosphates as stabilizers. If in doubt: Get a small bottle, apply it to a gallon of water and get your test kit out ...
