Tossed some live black worms to my tanks earlier for the first time ever.. seriously it was mayhem. All of my fish in all 3 tanks flipped, and not one of them didnt feed like they hadnt eaten in weeks. Even my Buettokoferri bichir who is probably the most shy eating fish ive ever had, was mowing em down and pushing my wolf out of the way.

Never saw fish get this excited over food haha is this the same w/ most of you guys when you feed live blackworm? Finally found a local store that sells it by the ounce, $2.25 isnt too bad seeing i fed 3 tanks and have half left

Blackworms are eagerly eaten by most fish. Cheaper to buy them by the pound. Store them in a shallow pan in the refrigerator. Change water every couple of days. Can be fed crushed flakes to bulk them up before feeding to your fish.

^ thanks for the advice man, the place is 20 mins away and I was there getting small driftwood pieces and only had enough for an oz. For sure going to get at least a half pound next time I go

Any specific temp they shouldn't go over or under?

Are live blackworms dirty like live tubifex worms I remember when I first started this hobby, I would by live tubifex worms for my fish because I thought it was cool watching them eat live food. However, the water that the worms were in was really dirty and I also saw leeches with the worms. How nutritious are live blackworms compared to live tubifex worms? The funny thing now is that I only see live blackworms being sold and I haven't seen live tubifex worms in fish stores being sold anymore.

I used to use 2-3 lb a month. We did a group buy with the local club. Pretty much everything loves them.

They go just as crazy for frozen ones... I buy them in 10lb shipments every couple months, mostly for my rays.

live blackworms are my fish staple diet. used to get them for $10 a lb a few years ago when joey did the group buys. now prices went up and nobody does group buys anymore. i go thru about 1lb every 5-7 weeks. from feeding 5-6 times a day. but i only keep wild angels so nothing monster.

Just about every fish I own eats live blackworms. Even my black clownfish pair.
Whenever I get in new fish or one of my fish wont eat a thing I throw in some live blackworms and watch the fish eat them like a vacum.

^ yeah kind of realizing these are the improved version of feeder fish but for everything. I did an experiment and threw in some red wigglers w/ the black worms in my main tank, my 8 inch red wolf decided to eat a bunch of black worms before bothering w/ a full size red worm haha
