Hello fellow MFKers, recently a few of my fhs got infected by a wierd white/spot and fungus looking infections so I started to treat them in a 55g hospital tank with upped temperature and W/C.
This is where my bloodworms question comes in. I figured I would soak their food in melafix/clout to treat them faster and more effectively. However, when I had my blackworms in a container (they were alive and moving), I put the clout in and they were fine. I added melafix and slowly but surely, they all started dying. I added a little salt to the mix and fed them to my fhs. I observed this twice, and it did seem to help with their infections.
My main question is if the blackworms are dying to the melafix, are they considered parasites? Is it safe to feed blackworms daily to my fish without worrying that they will get sick?
