Here's my situation - I just got some baby bichirs shipped in from out of state. They had a rough journey, and a nextday delivery turned into four days and four nights in a tiny little bag. They're tired, they're thin, they need help. I've had them for about a week and hit a big problem at feeding time. Trust me, I've tried everything in every way I could. They won't take anything that my other bichirs eat - won't even pretend to be interested. They refuse market shrimp, chopped earthworms, chunks of pellets, krill, and every other thing in my food arsenal. They WERE very interested in trying to pick off the other fish in the tank (which are twice their size... it was kind of cute watching them try) so I went to PetsMart and bought some small danios which they gobbled up. As a rule, I do NOT use feeder fish, and zebra danios are cutting it close enough in my opinion. I finally emailed the seller - and he says they were eating great off live black worms. What the hell is that? lol I looked online and found out I can order them... for like 20 bucks plus shipping, depending on the site... but is there an easier way? And a quicker way? These are *bichirs*... ten bucks worth of danios does NOT last that long and I don't have the luxury of time to try to wean them onto another food. They're far too skinny and I don't want to push it until they're healthy. Any ideas??

Would like to add that the nightcrawlers I tried WERE small and wiggly still... but not.. uh... black enough??? I guess?? lol

Ooooooooooooo HAHA okay that's funny. Sorry I'm losing my mind recently.

Bloodworms - trust me Anne... I went there. I tried. I am STILL mystified that there are baby bichirs in this world who won't eat them, and more confused still by the fact that those exact fish are in that tank over there. When I get offline, I plan on trying them again and using my turkey baster (best tank tool EVER) to swirl the water a bit and try to make the worms look "alive", just for fun. Maybe it'll work.

LFS's's's don't have blackworms - tried it.

And for dancbw, I'm going to the site now :)
