You might want to consider joining a local fish club. There are usually good deals on tanks and fish available through them when you join. I belong to the Medina Aquarium club and Ohio Cichlid Association. There is also the Greater Akron Aquarium Society. Yearly membership is usually a nominal fee and they meet once a month.

I've gotten some excellent deals on both fish and tanks/equipment this way.

Consider the OCA. I just saw three 100-150 gallon tanks go for $130 or less on there forum. You need to be apart of the club to view the for sale adds(one of the perks for joining). They have a weekend long event next month. Check out the link. They have some great speakers coming in, and the list of fish you will find there is awesome.
