Blasting Sand for Stingray Aquarium

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There is a lot of metal in blasting sand. I stuck a magnet in the blaster at work and there was all kinds of stuff stuck to it when I pulled it out.

What the hell kind of sand do you use? Are you sure it isn't metal particulates from being in a shop?

I use Black Diamond sand in a community tank of angels, gouramis, and corys. No one seems to mind the sand and it looks fantastic.

I'm not sure on the brand, but the tub is usually covered. I'd have a hard time believing that there is that much metal floating around, anyway. I dunno. Just sharing what I've found. I use pfs with some very sensitive fish, and don't have any problems.
