Hi all,

Found my baby sen to be rather inactive today, it has been resting at the same spot before, and after my dinner. A closer look at her when I realized her left arm was red with blood. Would the use of Melafix be probable in this case, as an antiseptic to the exposed wounds. I'm not sure but I'm thinking that 1 of my 3 other juvi sens might have snapped on the baby sen's arm while I was at the office.

Haven't seen my baby bichir swimming to the top for air, so I decided to keep her in a 10x10cm miniature cube tank with a water level of about 4-5cm.

How can I hasten the healing/regen process? Please advise, thank you.

I've always used freshwater aquarium salt for healing wounds, but i'm sure melafix has something in there that would help

Bacterial infection it is and treat is as such, you could try to add salt, but medicine like Melafix should be more affective.

this happened to one of my little sens anal fins when he was in with my jewel pair, once i separated him from it stopped bleeding within a day and its healing well now (i also have salt in my tanks in the amount of 2tsps per gallon so im sure that helped)

Thanks for the feedback, I'll add a little salt to the quarantined tank.

Just to add-on, I realized it's not using its injured pectoral fin side to swim. Was it pure bacterial infection, or the fin got snapped by 1 of my juvi sens?
