Pick this up at the LFS for $15.00 as a Bleekeri. It's my first of this type of fish (I have other Africans and SA's) Sorry about the last pic of the Jewel but it shows his/her finnage really well. I've had the Jewel for about 2 years now. How does one sex this fish? Thanks!

HAHAHA, no I got it at House of Tropicals in Glen Burnie. They don't have as big a selection but their prices on fish are better (generally) Dry goods are much cheaper at Aquarium Depot.

Looks like polleni "Small Spot"

That's what I was thinking. No matter though. It'll still turn out to be a nice fish. It's funny he'll darken up from time to time, he looks real nice when he does. He's very active and not shy at all, not even with the camera pressed up against the tank. What's their growth rate like? I plan on growing him/her out in my 125, and moving it to a larger tank in the future.

wow theyre cool!!! and does it have ick???

You talking about all the spots on his body? Those are his markings. I've honestly never had a fish get ich before so I don't really know what it looks like. Thing is a lot of my fish have been scratching against the rocks. Esp. my peacocks, no signs of any spots on them. I just checked my PH and Ammonia, PH is between 7.8-8, ammonia is between .25-.50 ppm. It's been a little over a week since a water change. I'm doing one tonight. Why do you guys/gals think they might be scratching?

Oh ok, and I though a small spot Polleni was a Bleekeri?

looks like the two bleekeri fry I have. Bleekeri are large spot
