I currently have a 7-8 inch large spot in my 120 gallon tank. He was the dominant fish but my midas has outgrown him and taken over. I love both fish but am contemplating taking the midas to my lfs for credit. My large spot has lost some color and hides most of the time, which is very much unlike him. The other fish in the tank are a electric blue hap, lima catfish, belly crawler pike, and a spotted pictus.

What other fish do you suggest I put in this setup? How large will my male large spot get?

Well, went to Wichita today to check out the local stock. I couldn't find anything that I could/should add to the above list of fish. I took the midas out this morning and took him to my LFS for credit. I usually miss my fish when they are gone, but he caused so much stress in the tank lately it is mostly a feeling of relief. My bleekeri has already gained his black coloration back and his blue spots are looking better. I'm sure he will be back to 100 percent in a week or two.

I did see a few male convicts that had a lot of blue coloration. I used to have a male convict that was beautiful, thinking about picking up for this setup. I saw a few severums that were nice but not big enough, and probably not a good choice with the bleek and hap.

Males should get to 10 inches or so. You might try some Ptychromis or Paretroplus to get other Maddys. I am growing out 3 Ptychromis oligacanthus to put with mine in the final tank.
