anybody kept one of these? Do they mix well with other cichlids? any special conditions they need? Can't find any profile of them online, but sure can find them for sale, and I would really like to get one in the next couple months.

Even though they are from Madagascar (Africa) they mix well with larger semi aggressive cichlids from CA America. They make good wet pets and are always hungry. I'd compare them to Oscar's. Messy eaters so keep up with water changes and for an adult I'd recommend nothing smaller then a 100 gallon tank but bigger is always better.

think it would mix better with an oscar, severum, pearl cichlid, BGK, and 4 tinfoil barbs in a 180G, or 2 jacks, 1 GT, senegal, african featherfin, pictus cat and striped raphael in 125G?

I'd put it in the 180 gallon tank. Bigger is always better and the fish in the tank are more peaceful cichlids.
