Yesturday i cleaned my tank, went to school this morning. When i got home i went to check out my fishies and i noticed two of my bleheri pacing back and forth infront of this glob of what looks like mucus...a nasty clump of something pinned up against the glass near the top of the tank right beside where the water ends and air begins. I also noticed some scratches on a couple of my fish, so they have definately been fighting...What do bleheri eggs look like? should i look for a pair because theres three that always hang out together and i can't really tell if they have paired up...Please Help

thanks

The eggs released are transparent and float to the surface. They are small, round, and 0.9-1.1 mm in diameter. An oil globule, about 0.6-0.7 mm in size, is present in each egg. The egg mass, with eggs close together, appears to be made of foam. Both the male and female initially tend the egg mass and display an interesting behavior. They take the eggs into the oral cavity and expel them through the gills, presumably to remove materials that may settle on egg surfaces. The eggs adhere to each other at the surface. Following hatching, both parents guard the larvae.

SO?????? Whats the dilly, willy? Are they eggs? Im so excited

i think it's a false alarm...they seem to be guarding this stuff what ever it is but i don't see multiple eggs it looks like a cluster of mucus i dunno i'll wait like 2 days before i move it just in case

the eggs may have not gotten their definite form yet. the egg itself are small and soft so it may not be that clear to see from human eye.

plus the bleheri are small so my guess is that the eggs maybe small too.

let us know in a few days. they are mouth brooders i believe.
