I'm starting to think my Delhezi may be blind..

I know that Bichirs have poor eye sight, but mine seems like he has little to none at all.

He has a redish tint to his eyes, not sure if thats common in all Dels/Bichirs?

When he swimms, he constantly bumps into the wall, deco, etc, and seems like he doesnt even try to avoid it..

When he smells food, and goes to it, he swims over it, next to it, etc, i even noticed a couple of times he will try to go for the food and miss it completely, grabbing a mouth full of sand...

Though, i had a rapheal in my tank before, and he seemed to find it just fine and attack it (Also strange behavior? Or is that also common?)

Might he be blind, or am i being overly paranoid as usuall? I can try and get some pics of his eyes, but it will be hard to get a pic with him being perfectly still...

Seems like its always been like that, even at the lfs he would swim into the filter intake, bump in to the other fish in the tank, etc, not sure if hes just lazy and doesnt turn or move out of the way, or if hes actually blind..

What i cant explain though is that when i tried to add a sen to the tank, he smelled her, knew she was there, but didnt bother her, and as soon as i put the spotted raphaels in, he would go straight for them and attack them, like literaly bite at thier heads and stuff, not sure if that has to do with sight or smell though...

Perhaps he can see, but is a little worse off than other bichirs? My sen that i had did fine, knew where she was going, didnt bump the deco, etc..

Both my polys, but especially my albino sen, are always bumping everything in the tank. As long as he's still finding food and not hurting himself he should be fine.
