Just got my senegal back from the not very LFS, and noticed he only has one working eye. The other is opaque and Im guessing he is blind in it.:(

Will he be ok? I remember reading somewhere they mainly use scent to hunt. He will be up against a channa bleheri at feeding time.....will he get enough chow?!

It should be fine with only one eye.My concern is the chana getting agressive at feeding time.Bichrs can be slow eaters and really shouldn't be kept with species known to be agressive-Anne

In the proper environment he should be fine with only one eye. If you notice that the bleheri (nice fish BTW :headbang2) is getting the lions share, try feeding right at lights out.

UPDATE - My Birchir (called Didier by the way!) is around three times the size of my Bleheri (who is only a juvi - 2" long!), and it seems the bleheri is absolutely petrified of him. Feeding time is more a case of wether Didier will leave any food for the SH! One eye or not, he has a voracious appetite and has already become king of the tank!

Just remember fish behavior can be entirely different once maturity is reached-Anne
