I have a 6" columbian orino. Over the last couple of weeks I've noticed he is barely eating. I tried feeding him some prawn and he kept missing it. On a close inspection it looks like he is blind in one eye.
I don't wan't to see him waste away and die.
What should I do?

i have a totally blind orino, he doesn't eat when the other fish eat, but he's become a pretty handy clean up crew. at least i don't have to feed him by hand anymore, that was getting old in a hurry.. lol.

dont kill it. one eye is better then no eyes. the orino will eventually figure out a way for food.

I agree dont kill it!! I picked up one that is blind in his right eye and put him in with my little oscars. He is a little over 4" and i have had him since the begginning of April. He is doing great, holds his own with the 2 oscars and eats very hardily. I can only get him to eat small chunks of earthworms and rosie reds.
Here is a pic. Can you guys tell me what kind he is? I think he is mono.

Dont kill him,if it is only blind in one eye then that should not stop it from eating.

I've got a blind temensis he goes along the bottom and gets what the others miss. I'd keep an orino for sure. If my guy gets outgrown and cannibalized by another tem..there isn't much I can do about that
