Have you tested your water?
Yes
If I did not test my water...
  1. ...I recognize that I will likely be asked to do a test, and that water tests are critical for solving freshwater health problems.
Do you do water changes?
Yes

today my male HRP turned on his mate for 0 reason. I guess he just wants the kids to himself. I moved her to the sort of retirement tank, which I have set up for my old breeder cichlids and larger livebearers whose mates have either died or beat them up, and they themselves are too old and weak to spawn regardless. However I can see her left eye has sustained some mild damage, and the right one is pretty much popped. said wound reminds me of when I'd accidentally catch sunfish on hooks too big for them to reasonably try to eat, resulting in them getting hooked through the eye. Is she going to be blind permanently or will at least one eye heal?

Should and most of the time heal but whether it’ll be able to see out of it is another story.

Hopefully her sight comes back, other than some mild fin injuries and the physical results of lip locking, she seems alright
