Blindness in fishes

Hello everyone, just wondering how can a fish go blind? My wolf fish bumped his head/ eye into a power head of a filter pretty badly and I was wondering if that will blind him. Tried to distract him by running my hands on the glass of the tank but he wasn't reacting much. Help please!

wolf fish are very tough and will live fine with just one eye. also, they recover very fast. You'll notice if the one eye is blind if turns completely white. If its just a wound then it will stay partially white then get better in a week or two. I don't know how bad the wound of your wolf is without pics, but based on my wolves (wounded their eyes multiple times through fight, bumps, etc) they've always made a full recovery.
