Hi guys ... I noticed that my RMM rays are having blistering at the bottom of the disc. The reading for Amonia 0.5 & Nitrite 0. Currently only 6 pc of RMM staying in 8'x4'x3' FGT. No other fish comm together.

Is it parasite attack ?? I feed my rays with mackarel cut into pieces. No live feeder fish/worms given to my RMM. Pls advise .. TQVM

Why would you suspect parasites with an ammonia reading?

What is the PH reading?

What is your Nitrate reading?

what is your water change schedule?

How long has the tank been set up?

I second the water change, keep the lights out and minimize stress. I would do at least 25% a day until things clear up

I think the ammonia is the problem and he needs to figure out the reason it is there.

Most likely scenario is it is either a new tank that hasn't fully cycled or an old tank that has had a ph crash from a build up of dissolved organics.

Either way I would monitor Nitrites closely and change water like nobodys business

TQ guys.... My Fiberglass tank was setup @ 2 years ago. Normally, everyday i do WC by pumping the water out to water my plants. But last month i went outstation for about 1.5 months & i ask my sister to do the WC. Each time we do WC, the inlet valve will let the new water goes into the fgt. Daily WC @ 5%!

My amonia reading is 0.5 & nitrite is 0. I will try to take some photos later. I did 50% Wc & takeout all the cotton filters & replace with new. I didnt put any sand or substrate at the bottom of the tank.. I've been keeping the RMM for about 2 years ..
