Hi guys 1st time on here ...hello
My year flowerhorn is suffering from bloat...ive tried tonic salt, general tonic, anti internal bacteria, just finished octozin treatment last week.....he still looks bloated
It seems after eating he breathes really heavy which makes me think he is suffering....so since Sunday I've decided to starve him for 3 days...ill feed him tomorrow with something light like frozen blood worm

Any suggestions...thanks

Welcome abroad. Faced the same problem with my baby RTC. Starve him for three days and it should heal just like mine did. if it still dosn't cure then try feeding it peas

Your right...maybe I should try peas.
Just got back from work...looking at him, looks like the octozin and worked, his belly is looking its slimmest for weeks...fingers crossed he is cured

Thanks...I will try that....incidentally Espom where the salt comes from is actually 2 miles from where I live..I never knew

Does anyone know what the correct epsom salts to water ratio for bloat is...thx

Just dont overfeed him to prevent it happening again. Follow the epsom salt solution that RD posted it is effective. Feed also high quality veggie pellets. I find it most of the flowerhorn strains today has more vieja blood than trimac. Specially the kamfa strains. So it is better to feed it with veggies pellets.

Metronidazole is usually effective. Kensfish sells a good Metronidazole flake
